During a Laser Leg Vein treatment, your provider will apply ultrasound gel to the area being treated. The laser is then applied in “pulses” to the entire area. Cool air is blown on the area during the treatment to minimize discomfort and prevent side effects. Depending on the extent of the veins, each treatment takes between 15-60 minutes. Subsequent treatments are performed at 4 to 12 week intervals.
Injection sclerotherapy is a technique where a solution is injected in the veins to cause their removal by the body. This procedure does require needles but is actually quite tolerable.

HOW DOES OUR LEG VEIN TREATMENT WORK?
Lasers deliver concentrated light in a specific wavelength of the spectrum. Each wavelength is absorbed by a different target, such as pigment, blood or water. Our chosen technology for the treatment for spider and reticular leg veins uses delivers light pulses in the 1064nm wavelength which is ideal for targeting leg veins. This specific wavelength of laser is used to send energy into the blood and vessel walls, where it is absorbed by hemoglobin. The hemoglobin is heated by the absorption of energy, and the vessel coagulates and closes off. The constricted vessel then degenerates, and the leg vein is no longer visible from the surface of the skin.
